It depends on your symptoms and what you want.
Lots of information can be gained from an internal pelvic floor muscle assessment which can be the root of your symptoms. However, not everyone wants an internal examination and not everyone therefore has one.
If indicated, the internal examination will be discussed in detail and full (verbal and written), informed (you know what the assessment contains) consent is always gained first.

The only time information may be shared is with your express consent or if deemed medically necessary for safety issues for you.
Information would only be shared with medical professionals eg GP, Consultant, Nurse Specialist, Specialist Physiotherapist or similar.

A Mummy MOT® is specifically for postnatal women and, at 75 minutes, covers multiple areas of the body affected by pregnancy and birth and can be for a woman who has recently given birth or years later.
A Women's Pelvic Health Assessment is a 60 minute appointment better suited to women at any stage of life who have one or two specific concerns, such as pelvic pain, bladder or bowel dysfunction, or pelvic floor weakness unrelated to a recent birth. If you are unsure which appointment is right for you, feel free to get in touch and we can point you in the right direction.
