Mummy MOT®

A specialised postnatal assessment from around 6 weeks after birth

The Mummy MOT® is the UK's leading specialist postnatal assessment, designed to support women's recovery after both vaginal and caesarean section births. Up to half of all women experience weakness in both the abdominal muscles and pelvic floor following pregnancy, and up to a third still have a tummy gap at eight weeks post-birth. Yet, these conditions often go unaddressed, leaving women to quietly cope with back pain, pelvic discomfort, and bladder or bowel issues that are far more common than they should be.

As a certified practitioner, I offer this specialist 75 minute postnatal assessment to every mum, whether you've had a vaginal birth or a caesarean section and whether your baby arrived six weeks ago or if several years have passed.

Delivered by certified practitioners, the Mummy MOT® is a comprehensive 75 minute assessment that includes a full postural screen, pelvic floor muscle assessment, abdominal muscle examination to check for separation, and screening for bladder, bowel, and sexual dysfunction.

Every assessment concludes with a written report of findings, practical education on everyday movements and a bespoke rehabilitation programme tailored to individual goals and lifestyle. Recommended from as early as six weeks postnatal, the Mummy MOT® is equally valuable for women who gave birth months or even years ago and still don't feel quite right. But this is more than a clinical check, it's the beginning of your recovery story.

It is a thorough, compassionate, and expert-led assessment that puts postnatal women's health where it has always belonged - at the centre of their care. Because your story doesn't end at birth, it's just getting started, and you deserve to feel strong enough to live it fully.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Have a look at the calendar to see what day and time suits you.

  • Of course!

I know that Mums don’t always have someone to look after their little one to attend a 75 min appointment, therefore little ones are welcome.

Bringing something they like to play with, snacks or anything that they like can help to keep them occupied. I’ve had a cuddle with a baby or few in my time and very happy to do so again (and again, and again!).

  • 100% Assessment is tailored to you so if you’re struggling with bladder leaking, we adjust the assessment towards that. If it’s returning to sport and feeling a heaviness, we adjust to that.

It might just be that you have found the time to set aside for you and want to invest time into your future body.

A Mummy MOT is just a fancy name for a check, of what you need and what your symptoms are.

  • From 6-8 weeks postnatal but if you are concerned before then, please contact me.
